We spent 2 weeks in India with our good friend, Gautam. We spent several days at his condo in Mumbai, wandering about and shopping and eating fabulous food both homemade and in restaurants, visited a few temple sites, and did game drives in 2 wildlife parks. This trip was completely different from our last trip to India - less hectic (we were there in very off season, so fewer people were doing anything), more exposure to large cities (we didn't spend any time in cities during our last visit), and about 30 degrees hotter. And we actually saw tigers.

The 9 Guy Trip this year was in Dominican Republic, and as usual, they did all kinds of fascinating and adventurous things, of which I have no pictures, since I am not a guy and therefore was not invited. Other 9G SOs were equally disgruntled about not getting to see the Dominican Republic, so we had an add-on at a resort in Juan Dolio, outside of Santo Domingo.

We went on our first cruise this year, a week long cruise to Alaska to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday along with just about all of her descendants. We then roadtripped back from Seattle, taking time to go to the Oregon Sand Dunes and to do some tidepooling.

Kim and Brent were working at LeVin Vineyard and Winery, a vineyard near Russian River Valley, so we thought we'd take a winery weekend to visit them. We had the best time!

Grandpa Jerry and Auntie Kelly came out to see the Raiders play San Diego - this may become a tradition! Rebecca visited also and met Charli for the first time. A lovely time was had by all.

We spent one night sightseeing and pseudo-camping in Yosemite before we dropped Kim and Brent back at the PCT.

We got a child carrier backpack last weekend but didn't have time to give it a go, so we did it this weekend instead. It works! We only took a short hike - probably only a mile total, and right up in Tiburon - but it definitely gave us a feel for the backpack. Canopy = good = no hair pulling.
